THE BURNED CHILDREN RECOVERY FOUNDATION

The name says it all.

Every year in the U.S. 250,000 children are seriously burned. Their injuries are incredibly painful and prolonged. The physical scars will be with them always; the emotional scarring is often even worse.

The Burned Children Recovery Foundation helps these young people deal with the stigma of looking “different” than other kids. Through the Foundation, nationwide one-on-one counseling connects them with caring mentors, many of whom have themselves been childhood burn victims.

Each year the Camp Phoenix summer camp brings these young victims together to have fun and to learn coping skills. For a full week they experience what it is like to not be different from those around them.

The Edmonds Jazz Connection has chosen these wonderful kids as its principal beneficiaries because it is important that we show them that we care about them, and that we help them deal with the heavy burden they must carry.

Please join us in supporting them as they travel the difficult road ahead.
